James David Fox, Sr., age 84 of Taylorsville passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born in Alexander County to the late Charlie A. and Margie (Carrigan) Fox on February 15, 1928 he had held many jobs in the food service industry, but his most current job prior to retirement was dealer transport at AAA of NC and Young Ford in Charlotte, NC. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and served in the United States Navy during WWII. Besides his parents, those that have preceded him in death is his wife, Arlene Bare Fox; two sisters, Lois Isenhour, and Nancy Hefner; and one brother-in-law, Dean Bare. Those left to cherish his memories are two sons: James D. Fox, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Charlotte, and Jeffrey D. Fox of Taylorsville. Four grandchildren: Tracy Fox Ginder, Erin Fox and boyfriend Richie Clough, Cody Fox, and Hailey Fox. One great-grandson: Elijah Ginder. Two brothers: Conrad and Gary Fox. Two sisters: Betty Hefner and Faye Warlick. Three brothers-in-law: Kenny, Gary, and J.C. Bare, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Macedonia Baptist Church from 12:30 pm- 1:45 pm with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Rev. Dan Spears, and Rev. Steve Dagenhart will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Macedonia Baptist Church @ 63 Macedonia Church Rd, Taylorsville, 28681 OR Calvary Baptist Church @ 5th Avenue NE, Taylorsville, 28681.
