James Presnell,

James Alvin Presnell, age 78 passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. He was born to the late Harmon Cutler and Susan Hessie Hicks Presnell on Monday, August 3, 1936 in Watauga County. He loved listening to blue grass, fishing and an Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Geneva Presnell, two sons Michael and Ronald Presnell, two brothers Odell, and HC Presnell, and one sister Norma McQuire.

James is survived by two daughters Melissa Moretz and husband Kenneth of Hickory, Gwen Foster and husband Dennis of Taylorsville, one son Doug Presnell and wife Sarah of Taylorsville, nine grandchildren Brittany, Madison, Laura, Emma, Adam, Ciera, Christina, Jennifer, Heather, six great-grandchildren Branson, Justin, Taylor, Avery, Austin, Liam, one sister Marie Presnell of Drexell, North Carolina, one daughter in-law Scottie Presnell and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, March 23, 2015 in the Alexander Funeral Service chapel. The Family will receive friends immediately after the service. Memorials can be made to the Hospice of your choice.
