James Quincy Patterson, age 80, of Taylorsville, passed away in Valley Nursing Center on January 6, 2015. Born on January 13, 1934, to the late Otto Burris and Mary McCurdy Patterson, he was of the Baptist faith, having attended East Taylorsville Baptist Church. He was retired from Century Furniture and in retirement, was with Lowe's Foods of Hildebran,
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Lowman Patterson; one son - Randy Patterson; one grandson - Joshua Patterson; and one brother - Daniel Burris Patterson.
Survivors include: one son Tim Patterson and wife Karen; one daughter - Jackie Patterson; and one grandson - Tyler Patterson all of Taylorsville. One step grandson - Brandon Eckard of Hildebran and two brothers - Tom Patterson and wife Pat of Statesville; and Ray Patterson and wife Rosetta, of Taylorsville; two sisters - Elata Webster and husband, Ernest; and Mary Jo Patterson, both of Taylorsville; along with two sister's-in-law - Cindy Patterson and Vickie Dagenhart. James has a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service with funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2015 with the Rev. Arlie Roten, Rev. Tony Daniels, and Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowman Family Cemetery in Connelly Springs, NC.
