James Richard Ambrose, age 86, of Taylorsville went home to be with the Lord at his residence on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born on November 25, 1926 in Arcadia, Indiana to the late Jesse Clement and Nora Tesh Ambrose. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII. James taught for Worland, Wyoming School System; Coos Bay Oregan School System; and was retired after 29 years of service with the Fresno City Unified School District in California, where he was a teacher and vice principal. He was also a youth sports coach, leading several High School Basketball teams to Championships. He was an avid golfer, was a current member of Community Christian Fellowship, and formerly attended Bethlehem Baptist Church of Hickory and First Baptist Church of Fresno, California. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife - Dorothy Lee Dunn Ambrose. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons - Jay Colin Ambrose and wife Rebecca, of Bethlehem and Richard Lee Ambrose and wife Karen of California; brothers - Joseph Ambrose and wife Donna of California and Charles Ambrose, M.D. of Kentucky; grandsons - Matthew, Jordan and Christopher Ambrose and Joshua Ambrose and wife Heidi; great grandson - Aiden Ambrose; and a number of nieces and nephews.
