James “Jim” Bradley Walker Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in Catawba County.
Jim was born on Monday, March 25, 1946, to the late Leslie Clyde Walker and Mary Gwendolyn Thompson Walker, in Alexander County.
Mr. Walker was a very faithful and Godly man, which showed in his day-to-day life. Jim enjoyed working with the Loaves and Fishes program, bird watching, and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Jim was retired as a supervisor from Fairfield Furniture. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where he was an Elder.
Including his parents, Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his son, “Brad” Walker, Jr., and a brother, Grady Walker.
Those left to cherish the precious memories of Jim, include his wife of 28 years, Mary Walker; two daughters, Bobbie Walker Halle (Chris), Dana Gibson (Allen), two sons, Todd Starnes (Miriam) and Jeff Deal (Carrie); and daughter-in-law, Elishia Walker.
Two brothers, John Walker (Sandy), and Randy Walker; three sisters, Rita McConnell (Danny), Betty Flowers, and Rebecca Walker.
Grandchildren: Jonathan Overcash, Chance Benfield, Lauren Starnes, Grant Starnes, Gracie Benfield, Jada Halle, Kaylee Travis, Ethan Deal, and Natalie Deal; great-grandchild, Dalton Mitchell.
Special nieces and nephews, Michelle Bumgarner, Angie Hughes, Dallas Hughes, and Laney Bumgarner, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, 3:00pm – 3:45pm, at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Funeral service will follow at 4:00pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Dr. Robert Allen will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Music will be provided by Jordan Dagenhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church in care of Loaves and Fishes, 1364 Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Chance, Grant, Dallas, Shannon, and Matthew.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
