Janet Lee Hamby Hill, age 65, of the Bethlehem Community passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at her residence. She was born on December 25, 1954 in Caldwell County, daughter of the late Thomas George and Mary Jane Hart Hamby. During her career, she was employed at Shuford Mills and was a member at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church. Janet loved the Lord, “her faith was strong, and she endured to the end.” She was also an avid shopper and enjoyed gardening, especially working in her flowers. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Hill, Sr.; sons Billy Hill & Larry Hill, Jr.; and sisters Carolyn Lail & Becky Hollar.
Those left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren Corey Hill of Morganton & Hollie Hill of Granite Falls; great-granddaughters Brooklyn Hill of Morganton & Lexie Kay Hill of Taylorsville; sisters Linda Austin of Lenoir, Katherine Hall of Lenoir, & Nancy Simmons of Grace Chapel; brothers George Hamby of Hudson & David Hamby of Charleston, SC; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
