Janet Lail Sipe,

Janet Lail Sipe, age 55, of Taylorsville, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice, with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Catawba County on June 10, 1958, to Shirley D. Lail and the late A.C. Lail. Janet graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1976 and attended Appalachian State University. She worked in dermatology for twenty-seven years. An avid singer and lover of music, Janet was a member of Christian Community Fellowship's worship team, and sang with several ladies' trios. Janet was a volunteer at Caring Hearts Pregnancy Center of Alexander County, a Gideon auxiliary member of the Taylorsville Gideon camp, and she loved studying God's Word. She was well loved and a friend to many. Janet is survived by her husband of twelve years: Tony R. Sipe; two stepchildren: Will and Emily Sipe; one grandchild: Bentley Sipe; mother: Shirley D. Lail; sister: Cherry L. Stilwell and husband Steve; nephew: Doran Stilwell; and one brother: Neal A. Lail.
The service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship located on Hwy 64 East in Taylorsville with the Rev. Neil Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
