Janice Marlene Crouch Buston

Janice Marlene Crouch Buston, age 76, born on Sunday, December 12, 1948, in Alexander County, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was a treasured member of her family.

During her working career, Janice dedicated her time and talents to the office at Clayton Marcus and 17 years at Hiddenite Elementary as a teacher assistant, where she became known for her professionalism and work ethic. However, her true pride and joy came from the time spent with her family, whom she loved greatly and cherished every moment with. Janice was not only a devoted wife to her husband, but also a loving mother to her children, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren. They all brought immense joy to her life, and she relished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them.

A member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Janice's faith and community were central to her life. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and was a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves and ACC basketball, often sharing these interests with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years John Buston; her children Christina Harrington (Monty) and Evan Buston (Kristal); her grandchildren Lucy, Jack, and Carson; and her siblings, Faye Bumgarner and Curtis Crouch (Merchi), along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her kindness and warmth.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Louise Bowman Crouch, who shaped her values and instilled in her the importance of family connection and love.

A visitation for Janice will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm at Mt. Herman Baptist Church, located at 3280 US Highway 64 90 West, Township of Taylorsville, NC 28681. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeremy Benbrooks will officiate.

The family will accept flowers.

Janice’s legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
