Jason Scott Chapman

Jason Scott Chapman, age 24, born on Thursday, August 24, 2000, in Iredell County, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Alexander County. He was a cherished member of his family and will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and love for the great outdoors. Jason was of the Baptist faith.

A dedicated worker, Jason was part of the road crew for Clate Inc., where he brought enthusiasm and diligence to his role. He had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed spending his leisure time pursuing various outdoor activities. Fishing, camping, kayaking, and mudding were among his favorite pastimes, reflecting his adventurous character.

Jason’s family was important in his life; he loved them dearly. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Wilson; his sister, Chrissy Chapman; and his paternal grandparents, Tammie Mahala and Mark. Additionally, his maternal grandfather, Brien Wilson, along with his uncles, Michael Morgan (Carolyn), Stacey Morgan, and Christopher Wilson, and aunt, Lisa Morgan, continue to hold his memory close. His bond with his best friend, Shaun Robinette, was particularly strong and will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scott Chapman. 

A memorial service honoring Jason’s life will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel in Taylorsville, North Carolina. The service will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by a visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Rhett Miller will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

Jason’s impact on those he loved and the legacy of cherished memories he leaves behind will forever be treasured by family and friends alike.
