Jason Daniel Stephens, age 75 of Conover passed away in Catawba Valley Medical Center on Saturday morning January 28, following a brief illness. Born June 21, 1936 in Gwinnett County, GA to the late John William Stephens and Minnie Lee Hicks he had been the District Manager for Waffle House for many years, and was a member of Bethlehem Church of God where he was a Sunday School Teacher Assistant and an usher. Besides his parents, those preceding Mr. Stephens in death are his brother Ottis Stephens. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Kimberly Stephens of the home; one sister Clara Jackson; four daughters – Beverly, Valerie, Darlene and Stephania; one son Jason (II); two stepsons - Joshua and wife Misty, and Wesley; and one stepdaughter- Ashley and husband Isaac. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Bethlehem Church of God on Tuesday, January 31 from 2:00 pm – 3:45 pm with the Funeral service to begin at 4:00 pm. Burial services will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Howard Smith will officiate.
