Jeff Bryan Cornelius, age 57, of Statesville, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Mr. Cornelius was born to the late Norris and Louise M. Cornelius on March 22, 1959 in Iredell County. He graduated from Statesville Senior High School. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator and was known to be one of the best. Mr. Cornelius was a cattle farmer and loved hunting & fishing.

In addition to his parents Mr. Cornelius was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ralph & Lillian Cornelius, Claude & Lora Miller; father in law Wayne Pennell, and step father in law Phil Chapman.

Mr. Cornelius leaves to carry on his legacy wife of 33 years, Lisa Dawn Pennell Cornelius, two sons: Jeremy Pennell & wife Kim, Travis Cornelius & wife Ashleigh; five grandchildren: Tristan, Trace, & Tyler Pennell, Adalynn & Alyssa Cornelius; one brother Steve Cornelius of Georgia, mother in law Shirley Chapman, four sister in laws: Denise Pruitt & husband Sam, Frankie Smith & husband Alan, Debbie Rector & husband Rick, Gerri Pinnix & husband Donivan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will be take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. James Miller will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiddenite.
