Jefferson Watts Sr.,

Jefferson Lowe Watts Sr., age 76, of Taylorsville, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was born to the late Benjamin Lowe and Beulah Smith Watts on December 4, 1939 in Mecklenburg County. Mr. Watts was the chief engineer for WACB & WTLK for over 50 years, as well as many other radio stations in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and South Carolina. He also traveled to Armenia for the United Nations and worked for Motorola. In addition to his parents Mr. Watts was preceded in death his wife, Quida Buff Watts and infant sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory sons: Paul Watts of Taylorsville, Jeff Watts Jr. & wife April, & Ben Watts both of Statesville; daughter Susan Owens, four grandchildren, one sister Sarah "Sally" Spangler of Statesville, one niece, and a special friend Jerry Clegg of Florida.

Visitation is Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service with the memorial service following at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Eddie Jolly will be officiating the service. Inurnment will take place with the family.
