Jeffrey “Jeff” Milton Reid, age 60, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Forsyth County. He was born to the late Arthur Williams Reid and Mary “Pansy” Russell Reid on Friday, June 28, 1963, in Iredell County. Mr. Reid proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jeff was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church. He was a truck driver and at one point worked for Little Oil Company. Jeff was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Apple City Street Rodders. He enjoyed riding Harleys, riding horses, hunting, and watching western movies. Jeff loved old cars, especially his 1973 Chevelle Laguna. He loved music especially George Straight and Elvis. Jeff was very proud of his Cherokee heritage including going to Pow Wows. He loved his family. Jeff cherished spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them at their sporting events.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Grady Reid; sister, Brounda Orren; and infant brother, Wesley Reid.
Those left to cherish the memories of Jeff include his daughters, Ashleigh Richey (Kyle) and Whitney Reese (Josh); three grandchildren, Carson Reese, Lilly Richey, Lane Reese; three sisters, Amelia Elfrez (Danny) of Texas, Patsy Toman (John) of Morganton and Joy Reid (Barry Horton) of Morganton; special friend, Chris Fox; five nephews; four nieces; four great-nephews; six great-nieces; a number of cousins and close friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in the Jennings Family Building from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in the Jennings Family Building at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mark Marshall and Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate. Chris Fox, Chris Reid, Justin Reid, Calvin Teague, Marcus Kincaid, and John Toman will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Reese and Lane Reese.
Military Rites will be provided.
