Jennie Herman Walters,

Aunt Jennie Maude Herman Walters, age 96,of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday afternoon in Valley Nursing Center. Born to the late Ouincy Eugene and Hattie Burgess Herman, on Nov. 4, 1919 in Alexander County, she was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church. She was employed by Chandler Bryan Knitting for thirty years. She was an avid gardner, loved quilting and adored her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her four siblings, Howard Herman, Minnie Childers, Nora Pennell and Alma Barnes.
Jennie is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, representing five generations, who are left to cherish her memory.
The family would like to express special thanks to her caregivers, Sharon Warren and Dale Holmes and to Dr. Steven Merrill for his years of care for her. They would like to recognize the staff of Valley Nursing for making her final years as comfortable as possible.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Services and graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Three Forks Baptist Church with the Rev. Carson Mosley, officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Ln, Taylorsville, NC 28681  or Valley Nursing Center, 581 NC Hwy 16, South, Taylorville, NC, 28681.
