Jeremy Samuel Stevens, age 37, born on July 22, 1987, in Catawba County, passed away on Friday August 16, 2024, at his residence in Alexander County. He was the beloved son of Ernest "Sam" Stevens and Patricia Cruse Philyaw (Malcolm). Jeremy will be remembered for his Christian faith, intelligence, warmth, and unwavering love for both people and animals.
As the owner and operator of JS Custom Machining, Jeremy dedicated himself to his craft, reflecting the passion and skill he was known for. His proudest accomplishments extend beyond his professional life; he was also a very talented musician who wrote, sang, and played his own music, which showcased his creative spirit and depth.
Jeremy had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in riding motorcycles, fishing, and hunting. These hobbies were a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Christine Stevens Spake, and his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Catherine Cruse, who undoubtedly embraced him with open arms.
Along with his parents he is survived by his brother, Wesley Dean O'Brien (Heather), and his cherished nieces, Haley O'Brien and Starla Ryder, along with his nephew, Dakota Davis. Jeremy also leaves behind a great nephew, Miguel Gutierrez, and his loyal dog, Ronee, who together enriched his life with companionship and joy.
A visitation in honor of Jeremy will take place on Saturday August 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Alexander Funeral Service. This will be followed by a funeral service at the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel starting at 1:00 PM. Pastor Derick Lingerfelt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Jeremy Samuel Stevens will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him and will forever be remembered for his vibrant spirit and compassion.
