Jesse Henry “Hen” Tevepaugh, age 82, of the Vashti Community, passed away at his residence on Saturday morning, April 21, 2012.  He was born June, 28, 1929 to the late Reace Alonza Tevepaugh and wife Ethel Kerley.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  He was a self-employed Carpenter, full-time Farmer and an Orchardist.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved bluegrass music and playing the mandolin.  He also enjoyed to just ride his tractor around and was known for the world’s best fried chicken.  He served in the Army from 1952-1954. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Baker and one brother, Tom Tevepaugh. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clara Tevepaugh of the Vashti Community.  Two sisters, Annie T. Daniels and Artie Sue Tevepaugh, of Vashti.  One daughter, Debbie Lowe and husband Jim, of Taylorsville.  Four sons, Howard and wife Jackie, of Conover; Bryan and wife Edie; Tony and Joel Tevepaugh, of Vashti.  His grandchildren; Ryan, Matthew and Jesse Tevepaugh; Amber Brown and husband John of Taylorsville; Julie Bennett and husband Brian; Ashlie Johnson and husband Gary, of Statesville; Lynn Tevepaugh and wife Joyi, Annette Gwaltney, Brian Gwaltney, of Hickory; Alisha Moretz of Stony Point; and Christina Wishon and husband Jody of Taylorsville.  Kristy Sparks and husband Chris, of Morganton.  He has 14 great grandchildren with one due in August and a host of nieces and nephews.  He also had a number of special friends.  Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 6:30-8:30pm at Alexander Funeral Service.  Funeral service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 4:00pm.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery with full military rights by the DAV Chapter 84 and Chapter 6.  Officiates will be Pastor Lander Heafner, Pastor Bradley Johnson, Pastor Don Ingle and Jim Lowe.  Pallbearers will be his 10 grandsons.  Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC  28681.
