Jewel Bowman Williams, age 66, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 3rd, 1945 in Catawba County to parents Vernon Maynard Bowman Sr. and Edith Herman Bowman. She was a faithful Christian who was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She also directed the children's choir and the Christmas programs. Jewel was also a long time employee of Hancock & Moore. She enjoyed playing golf and also actively coached little league Baseball and Softball. Jewel loved attending Bible study classes and Prayer Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Fox. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Bryson Williams Sr. of the home; 4 children: Charles "Bryson" Williams Jr. & wife Laura of Ft. Mill, SC, Danny Bowman Williams & wife Mary of Bethlehem, Sandra Williams Morrisey & husband Tom of New York, NY, and Patrick Wayne Williams "Goober" of Taylorsville; 2 sisters: Wanda Johnston and Dorothy Parker; and 1 brother, Vernon Bowman. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Charles Bryson Williams III "Trey", Tanner Alexander Williams, David Michael Meskin, Margaret Sloan Williams "Meg", Mary "Brooke" Williams, Jordan Jewel Morrisey, and Faith Frances Morrisey. Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 from 4-6 PM at Alexander Funeral Service. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 19th, 2012 at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church at 4 P.M. where Rev. Mike Stone will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church @ 9379 NC Hwy 127. Hickory, NC 28601.
