Jimmy "Clay" Fox, age 78 of Taylorsville passed away at Catawba Valley Medical Center on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Born in Alexander County, March 21, 1935 to the late Ransom and Rosa (Lail) Fox, he had worked in the furniture industry and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, as well as being the neighborhood "Fox Court" security. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Fox, one son - Richard "Ricky" Fox, three sisters: Lucille Jenkins, Hazel Hollar, as well as an infant; and three brothers: Graydon, Steril, and Cletus Fox. Those remaining to cherish his memories are one daughter - Penny F. Adams and husband Phil of Taylorsville. Four grandchildren - Amanda Millsaps Holman and husband Curtis of Lenoir, Alicia Nicole Millsaps, Alison Nichole Adams all of Taylorsville, and Jessica Fox Moretz and husband Dan of Fayetteville. Five great-grandchildren - Madison, Daniel, Ashlyn, and Sarah Moretz of Fayetteville, and JD Holman of Lenoir. Two brothers - Flake Fox and wife Bernice, and Ralph Fox and wife Linda, one sister-in-law - Katherine Fox, all of Taylorsville. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews and other family members.
Visitation for Mr. Fox will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Wednesday evening, October 2, 2013 from 7:00 pm- 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm at East Taylorsville Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Steele and Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Liledoun Cemetery. Nephews are serving as pallbearers; Bradley, Wesley, Terry, Kevin, Roger, and Andy Fox. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Herman, Shannon Stafford, Dale Reese, Lane Fox, and Gary Hollar.
