Jimmy Leonard Hatton, age 69, of Taylorsville, passed away at his residence on September 28, 2014. He was born January 5, 1945 in Alexander County to the late Wilson Thomas and Beatrice Edna Pennell Hatton. Jimmy worked in the furniture industry for many years and had been employed by Broyhill Furniture. He occasionally attended Mountain Ridge Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandsons, NASCAR, and eating at KFC.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Hatton, brothers; Tommy and Larry Hatton, infant sister, Edna Hatton, and infant niece Tammy Dawn.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Land Hatton of fifty years; one son, Tim Hatton and wife Lisa of Taylorsville, brothers include; Willard and Betty Hatton, Don and Louise Hatton, and Herman and Geraldine Hatton, all of Taylorsville. Three grandchildren; Isaac, Skyler, and Riley Hatton of Taylorsville. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Hatton will be held on Tuesday night, September 30, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. The Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014, with Pastor Phil Jolly and Pastor Mark Adams officiating at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. The burial will follow at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
