Jimmy Ray Speagle

October 29, 1954 — April 19, 2023

Jimmy Ray Speagle, age 68 of Vale, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the
Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville. He was born the middle son of the late Owen and Dorothy Teague Speagle on Friday, October 29, 1954, in Catawba County.

Mr. Speagle proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from
Fred T. Foard High School, Class of 1973, and attended Appalachian State University.
Jimmy held many positions over his lifetime but was most well known for working in
Road Construction at Midstate Contractors Inc. in Hickory.

Jimmy enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to the beach, watching NASCAR, being outside mowing grass, swimming in the family pool, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Including his parents, Owen and Dorothy Speagle, he was preceded in death by his wife, Selena Poovey Speagle.

Those left to cherish the memories of Jimmy include his daughter, Kendal Holleman (Chase),
his siblings Betty Johnson, Danny Speagle (Nancy), Roger Speagle (Marie), Bobby Speagle,
Susan Bivens (Darryl), Pam Speagle (Randy), as well as his extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Teague/Munday Cemetery at 2:00pm.
Rev. Paul Schronce will officiate. Military rites will be provided by DAV Ch. 84 and Ch. 6

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
