Joette Herman Farris, age 58, of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, November 07, 2010, in Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Born to Harvey Watts Herman and Martha Nell Daniels Herman, April 15, 1952, she was a 1970 graduate of Taylorsville High School. She was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and was a member of the Teen Crusaders during her high school years. She was employed as a dental assistant and an inspector for Kimbrell Glass. She was a graduate of Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, J. Lloyd and Betty Watts Herman and material grandparents, Homer and Ruby Daniels. Joette is survived by her mother and one sister, Jill Herman Childers and husband Craig. A niece Monica, a nephew, Justin Childers and wife Mahala, a great niece, Cheyenne Childers, and a great nephew, Bryce Grayson Childers. Aunts and uncles: Janie Teague and husband, Bill, Bobby Daniels and wife Sue and Clara Herman. Numerous cousins, including Faye Herman Shew, who was a special care-giver. All listed survivors are of Taylorsville. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at East Taylorsville Baptist Church from 5-7:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow on Wednesday morning, Nov. 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Taylorsville. Rev. Jamie Steel and Rev. Gary W. Jennings will officiate. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of East Taylorsville Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to Gordon Hospice House in Statesville @ 2341 Simonton Road, 28625.
