Joe Webster Hollar, 55, of Atlanta, GA passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.

He was born to Johnny and Rachel Hollar, September 20, 1959, in Hickory, NC. Joe served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Antioch Baptist Church and was a proud Eagle Scout. He graduated from Alexander Central High School in 1977 and received a Bachelors in Business Administration from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1981. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Ritchie Hollar, in 1982, and they lived together in Mooresville, NC before relocating to Atlanta in 1999.

Joe started with United Parcel Service as a package loader in 1978 and worked his way to the corporate office in Atlanta where he retired in 2006 as the Corporate Overgoods Manager.

Joe was a member of First Redeemer Church. He enjoyed golfing, home improvement projects and living life to the fullest. He also loved traveling with his wife, especially on cruises and trips to the mountains where he felt most at home. His proudest accomplishment in life was his three sons.

Joe is survived by his wife, Donna Hollar of Atlanta, GA; his three sons, Dr. Matthew Hollar of Nashville, TN, Andrew Hollar of New York, NY, and Patrick and Mattie Hollar of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Rachel Hollar of Taylorsville, NC; his mother-in-law, Edith Ritchie of Taylorsville, NC; and his father-in-law, Johnson Ritchie of Taylorsville, NC. He is also survived by many members of the Hollar family in North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Hollar of Taylorsville, NC.

Visitation will be Sunday, April, 26, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church from 2:30-3:30 pm with the funeral service following at 3:30 pm. The Rev. Tom Jones and Rev. Mark Hollar will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
