Joey "Joe" Allen Dula

Joey "Joe" Allen Dula, age 66, born on Friday, February 28, 1958, in Caldwell County, departed this life on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home in Alexander County. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Joe had a passion for enjoying life, often found watching NASCAR races, cheering for the UNC Tarheels, and sharing laughter with those around him. 

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kellie Dula Handoo, and son-in-law Ricky. Joe was a proud grandfather to Miles Handoo and eagerly anticipated the arrival of his granddaughter. He is also survived by Elizabeth Dula, the mother of his child; brothers Bryon Dula (April) and Eric Dula (Lisa); sisters Cindy Minton (Ben), Deborah Brady, and Lisa Carr (Roger). Joe held dear the bond with his niece, Mitzi Lester, and treasured the lifelong friendship he shared with Bill Martin, along with his close friend Tanaye Gohring. Additionally, Joe's neighbors, William and Gloria, deserve special recognition for their unwavering support and kindness.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Dula Jr. and Annie Louise Robinson Dula, as well as his brother, Terry "Rocky" Dula, and sister, Sherry Rogers. 

A family-led Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by his family and friends. Joe's heart and spirit will continue to live on in the memories held by all who were fortunate to know him.
