John Cornelius “J.C.” Warren, age 67 of Statesvillepassed away on Saturday, September 24, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in AlexanderCountyto the late AY Cornelius “Neil” Warren and Mildred Irene Fox on July 13, 1944. He retired from Gulf States Paper Corporation as a Printing Superintendent. He was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church where he had previously served as a deacon and a participant in the Men’s Association. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sarah Hedrick Warren; son Mark Warren and wife Annette of Taylorsville, daughter Tiffany Cotuna and husband Lewis of Hickory, daughter Tara Warren, and son Andy Warren both of Taylorsville, and son George P. Saffos and wife Amy of Statesville. Grandchildren include Adele and Averi Warren, Abigale and Josephine Cotuna, and George R. and Emily Saffos. He also leaves behind three brothers – Dwayne Warren and wife Linda; Paul, and Gary Warren – all of Taylorsville. One sister Kathryn Ayers and husband Tommy also of Taylorsville. Also a sister and brother-in-law Barbara and John Williams, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other relatives. Besides his parents, those that have preceded him in death are two sisters-in-law: Martha Warren and Cynthia Warren. Visitation for Mr. Warren will be held on Monday, September 26 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. On Tuesday, September 27, a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm at Concord Presbyterian Church in Statesvillewith the Rev. Kyle Goodman officiating. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Concord Presbyterian Church Building Fund at 3867 Taylorsville Hwy, Statesville, 28625.
