John Henry Dyson,

John Henry Dyson, age 93, of Newton passed away on October 22, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born October 28, 1918 in Alexander County, he was the son of the late Marcus and Lona Logan Dyson. Mr. Dyson was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army as a 1st gunner. Along with his parents he will be welcomed into heaven by his sister, Blanche Crouch, and brother Cranford Dyson; three sons, Clifford Dyson, Gene Dyson, and Bill Dyson; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ruth Dyson; one sister, Rachel Goble of Taylorsville; two sons, Larry Dyson and wife Norma of Taylorsville, and Roger Dyson and wife Debbie of Stony Point; two daughters, Betty Cline of Conover, and Linda Deal and husband Roger of Taylorsville; He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.



Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2 PM at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor Bob Gober and Pastor Mike Hoyle officiating. American Legion Post #48 will be providing military honors. Family will be at the home of Larry Dyson 5460 Paul Payne Store Road, Taylorsville to enjoy in the remembrance of John’s life.
