John Brown, Jr.,

John Lindsay (JL) Brown, Jr., 73 of Taylorsville passed away on Monday, July 15 at Iredell Memorial Hospital - Statesville.  He  was born in Alexander County on December 11, 1939 to the late John Lindsay Brown, Sr. and Mozelle Brown.  Two brothers also precede him in death:  Tony and William Danny Brown. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife - Gracie Bumgarner Brown of the home.  One daughter  - Lisa Parsons and husband, Doug.  Two sons - Rex Brown and wife Cyndee; and Danny W. Brown and wife, Patti.  Seven grandchildren - Eddie Parsons, Daniel Parsons and wife, Jennifer, Isaiah Parsons, Christopher, Angel, Chelsea, and Payton Brown.  Seven great-grandchildren - Jasmyn, Blaine, Mason, Alyvia, Austin, Avery Parsons, and Gabriel Brown.  One brother - Ricky Brown and wife, Melony. A nephew - Shawn Brown and a niece - Teresa Johnson. He also leaves behind two aunts:  Angell Barnes, and Rita Bischer and husband, JC.  He was a faithful member of Lebanon Baptist Church, where he  served as a Deacon and he was   co-business owners with his brother in Brown Brothers Logging.
Visitation for Mr. Brown will be held on Wednesday evening, July 17 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service.  A Memorial service will be held on Thursday afternoon,  July 18 at 2:00 pm at Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Jolly officiating.
