John Paul Jones,

Mr. John Paul Jones, age 69, of Taylorsville went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. He was born January 30, 1944 in Wilkes County the son of the late Thomas Bruce and Flois Fox Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate of West Wilkes High School and attended Auto Diesel Mechanic College in Nashville Tennessee where he received his certification. He worked and retired from Lazy Boy Manufacturing and also retired from the Army National Guard. After retirement he loved to work at the flea market and cattle market in Wilkesboro. He was a faithful member at Northside Baptist Church and was very involved with church activities. He is survived by his son: Dale Jones of Taylorsville; granddaughter: Erica Jones of Taylorsville; great granddaughter: Chesney Byerley of Taylorsville; sisters: Patricia Sheets and husband William of Winston-Salem and Nila Caldwell and husband Richard of Waynesville; a numerous number of nieces and nephews and special friends: Ronnie and Mary Hall and Bertie Vermillion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Alexander Funeral Service and the Service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am. Burial will be held after at 1:00 pm at Mount Lawn Mausoleum in North Wilkesboro. In lieu of flowers a donation to Northside Baptist Church of Taylorsville at Po Box 901; Taylorsville, NC 28681; Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at 101 Hospice Lane; Winston Salem, NC 27103 or Hospice of Alexander at 50 Lucy Echerd Lane; Taylorsville, NC 28681 would be appreciated by the family.
