John Michael Picard, age 61, of Taylorsville, passed away on August 17, 2019, in Gordon Hospice House. Born on May 5, 1958, to the late Donald and Anna Schmidt Picard in Northbridge, Massachusetts, he was an energy consultant with Duke Power. He was an active member of New Life Christian Fellowship where he enjoyed worshiping with family and friends. His love for the outdoors, was shown in hiking and fishing. He was a good cook and enjoyed good food. He loved well and was well loved. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Louise Picard Badger, on August 9.
John is survived by his wife, Annette Louise Sommer Wiley Picard, John has three sons, Nathan David Picard, of Massachusetts, John Michael Picard Jr. of California and James Thomas Picard of Florida and one daughter Hannah Grace Picard of Massachusetts. Annette’s children, Lucas Jonathan Wiley and wife Josephine of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jacob Nathaniel Wiley and wife, Jessie, of Stony Point, North Carolina and grandsons, Geric Burrus and Elias Wiley. Mr. Picard’s siblings survive Mary Picard of Montreal, Quebec, Christine Ford of Webster, Massachusetts, Donna McLagan of Leeds, Maine, and a half brother, John Eddy of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, from 6-7:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship in Taylorsville, with memorials services following at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Steve Watson officiating. Inurnment will be with the family.
