Johnny Brooks "Red" Conner, age 78, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Autumn Care in Statesville. Mr. Conner was born May 1, 1937 to the late Marvin Monroe and Lelia Stocks Conner in Richmond County, NC. Johnny loved being around his whole family. He married his soul mate of 57 years, Juanita Stafford Conner on September 26, 1958. Mr. Conner was employed at Beaunit Mills for 10 years working in  the mill, as a truck driver for Wheeling Corrugating Company for almost 30 years, and retired from driving at Holland Transfer Company after 6 years in August of 2003.

In addition to Mr. Conner's parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Hubert & Paul Conner and two sisters; Libby C. English & Ruth C. Honeycutt.

In addition to his wife Johnny is survived by two sons; Johnny "JB" Conner Jr. of Hickory, Eugene Conner & wife Libby of Hiddenite, daughter Ann Hager & husband Mark of Statesville, brother Earl Conner & wife Genevieve of Rockingham, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, & special friends whom he loved to laugh and joke around with. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Autumn Care for their kind and loving care of Mr. Conner.

Visitation is 12:30-2:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service with a Graveside service following at Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Tony Fox, Rev. Jim Morgan, and Rev. Tommy Lampley will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville. The family requests that in addition to flowers that memorials be made to the Mission Fund at Command Baptist Church; 658 Island Ford Rd; Statesville, NC 28625
