Johnny Edgar Hill

Johnny Edgar Hill, age 71, of the Bethlehem Community, Hickory passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Scotland County, NC on December 4, 1947, the son of the late Lester Douglas & Opal Venable Hill. During his career, Johnny worked as a sheet metal mechanic for William C. Reynolds Company in Hickory and for Hickory Sheet Metal. He was a member at Promise Land Ministries and loved music & playing his guitar. Johnny was also an avid woodworker & was great with his hands. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Larry Hill, Billy Hill, & baby brother Michael Hill; and sisters Polly Davis & Nancy Howlett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years Patricia Diane Hill of the home; sons Johnny Fredrick Hill of Bethlehem, Kenneth Hill of Viewmont, & James Hill of Huntersville; step-son Javeed Hussain of Bethlehem; five grandchildren; sister Wanda Taylor of Valdese; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Promise Land Ministries. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Bill Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradon Hussain, DJ Griffin, Kenneth Hill, & Corey Hill.
