Johnny Lee “Tippy” Robinette, 62 of Bethlehem, passed away at his home on November 9, 2010. He was born in Alexander County on June 18, 1948 to the late Carlee Walter Robinette and Hazel Beatrice McAlpin Robinette Ireland. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Ireland: his wife, Evelyn Bolick Robinette of the home: one son, Lee Robinette and wife Erin – of Taylorsville: one daughter Natasha Robinette – of Conover: four grandchildren Trenten and Madison Robinette, - of Taylorsville; Michael Spera, and Makayla Lackey – of Conover: sister, Sandra Stamey and husband Bill – of Statesville; and a very special Aunt Marie Crisp of Taylorsville. Mr. Robinette was a professional truck driver for over 30 years, and retired from Shurtape Technologies. He attended Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. Visitation at Alexander Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 6-8pm. Funeral Services for Mr. Robinette will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010, 4 pm at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem with the burial to follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Bethlehem. Rev. Mike Stone will officiate. Danny "Tucker" Martin, Mike "Gobz" Honeycutt, Gary "Slop" Lackey, Jimmy "Little Doc" Martin, Keith "Pete" Stikeleather, and T.R. Mayberry will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Felix "Fess" Webster, Roy Lee "T-boy" Hoke, Roger Lackey, Terry "Booger" Miller, Trenten Robinette, Joe "Picnic" Chapman, and Larry "Lud" Price.
