Johnny Webster Hollar,

Johnny Webster Hollar, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in Frye Regional Med. Ctr. Born in Alexander County to the late Jay Hugh and Katie Moretz Hollar, on April 12, 1936, he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Hollar owned and operated Hollar Transportation Services Inc. fulfilling a career in the transportation industry. Being a thirty three degree mason, he belonged to Lodge 343 of Hickory.  He is survived by his wife, Rachel May Hollar of the home. One son, Joe Hollar and wife Donna Richie Hollar of Atlanta, Ga. Three grandsons: Matthew, and Andrew Hollar of Durham and John Hollar of Atlanta. He has four brothers: Blayne, Wyndell, Michael, and Warren Hollar all of Taylorsville. He has a host of nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held Tues. Mar. 1, 2011, at Antioch Baptist Church, from 3-4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Morris will officiate.  Matthew, Andrew, John, Hugh, Mark, Brian, David, Ed, Eric, and Jacob Hollar will serve as pallbearers. Johnny’s brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers. Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service of Taylorsville is serving the Hollar family.
