Johnsie Deal Lackey

Johnsie Deal Little Adams Lackey, age 82, of Taylorsville passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. She was born on July 24, 1934 in Alexander County to the late Dexter Davidson and Lucy Bowman Deal. Johnsie was a homemaker. She loved to make people laugh and to provide comfort to those in need. She was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands: Calvin Little, William Adams, and Harry Lackey; son: Michael Little; brother: George Deal and sister: Sibil Mull. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Jennifer Little & husband Phil Whitaker and Mitzi Poovey; stepson: Harry "Scott" Lackey and wife Kim; sister: Ruth Deal-Lackey and husband Phil; grandchildren: Susan Caudle, Michael Little, Jordan Poovey & wife Ly, and Madison Poovey; two great grandchildren: Brandon and Jonathan Caudle; six step-grandchildren, and special friend: Chase Little.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Friendship Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Friendship Lutheran Church with Pastor Carol & Gregory Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan & Brandon Caudle, Jordan Poovey, Michael Little, Anthony Robinson and Randy Barnes.
