Joyce Bowman Fox, age 69, of the Bethlehem community, passed away early Friday morning, April 15th, 2011 at her home. She was born in Catawba county on February 19th, 1942 to parents Maynard Vernon Bowman Sr. and Edith Faye Herman Bowman. Joyce was a lifetime member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. She worked as a sewing supervisor at Hancock & Moore Furniture Company, and enjoyed gardening. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed singing in the church choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rayford Herman Fox; and her infant grandson, William Brent Fox. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and 3 sons: Sonja Elaine Fox & husband George Nicolas of Asheville; Brent Herman Fox; Martin Rayford Fox & wife Amy; and Jonathan Clyde Fox & wife Tami – all of Taylorsville. She also has 3 sisters: Wanda Johnston & husband Ronnie; Jewel Williams & husband Charlie; and Dorothy Parker; and 1 brother: Vernon Bowman & wife Sharon. She also has 1 sister-in-law, Connie Icenhour & husband Steve. 12 grandchildren are left to remember their grandmother: Hannah Fox Hefner and husband, Jordan, Chelsea Fox, Rachel Fox, Kallie Brown, Savannah Brown, Emily Fox, Ashley Fox, Nicholas Fox, Jacob Fox, Daniel Fox, Quinton Fox, and Benjamin Fox. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17th, at Alexander Funeral Service from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18th at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church at 4:00 P.M. where the Rev. Mike Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in Liledoun Cemetery in Taylorsville.
