Joyce Pritchard Canipe,

Joyce Ruth Pritchard Canipe, age 84, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, June 16th, 2011 at Taylorsville House.  She was born in Catawba County on July 18th, 1926 to parents Arthur and Ethel Porch Pritchard.  She was retired from the furniture industry as a sanding inspector at Hancock & Moore Inc.  Joyce enjoyed crocheting and reading.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Canipe, in 2004; and an infant son, William John Hollar.  Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David Hollar & wife Linda of Boone; her daughter, Jerrie Sue “Susie” Oliver of Taylorsville; 4 grandchildren: Billy Lowman of Taylorsville, Alan, David Jr., and Will Hollar of Boone; and 2 great-grandchildren: Brandon & Matthew Lowman of Taylorsville. She also leaves behind 3 brothers: John Pritchard & wife Maggie, Marvin Pritchard & wife Carol, and Charles Pritchard & wife Evelina – all of Lenoir; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service.  A memorial service will follow at 5 inside the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel where Rev. Bobby Pritchard will officiate.  Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with the care of the Canipe family.
