Joyce Arlene Bennett White, age 55 of Taylorsville passed over into Heaven on Thursday evening May 6, 2021. Joyce was born January 21, 1966 to John Poole and Frances Bennett Blount in Alexander County. Joyce was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church for over twenty years where she sang in the choir, volunteered in vacation Bible school, and helped with various other church events. Joyce will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, her enjoyment of trucks, and lawn mower racing.
Joyce was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Blount of Dillon SC., grandmother, Ruth Lackey of Hiddenite, and son Lorenzo Bennett of Taylorsville.
Those left to cherish and celebrated the life and memories of Joyce include her mother, Frances Marie Bennett Blount, father, John Bristol Poole (Raynell), daughter, Erica Bennett, Amanda and Jr. Jackson of Taylorsville, daughter-in-law, Mindy Bennett of California, seven grandchildren, Tay Tay Roseboro, India Jackson, London Jackson, Rhi Rhi Jackson, Destiny Bennett, Nan Bennett, TB Bennett. Two grandmothers, Wilma Stevenson, and Florence Wilson three sisters, Debra Bennett, Alfreida George and special sister, Sandra Bennett, and, three brothers, Marvin Clark (Alishia), John Clark (Rejohnnica), and Cecil Clark, all of Taylorsville, along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and a best friend Tina Dalton and Rosa Craig.
Visitation for Mrs. White will be conducted at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in the Jennings Building on Wednesday afternoon, May 12, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. with Rev. Jamie Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Chapel AME Cemetery.
