Judith Carol Johnson, age 65, of Hiddenite, passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 8th, 1946 in Alexander County to parents Jack D. and Willie Mae Mills Beaver. She served as the Outreach Coordinator for the Alexander County Senior Center. She attended Stony Point Baptist Church, enjoyed crafts, art, cooking, and loved being around people. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 35 years, Jerry “Steve” Johnson of the home; 3 sons: Stephen F. Pope II and wife Tina of Hiddenite, James D. Pope and wife Christy of Statesville, and Jeffrey S. Johnson – also of Hiddenite; 1 daughter: Stephanie Carol Pope Rash and husband Paul of Stony Point; 6 grandchildren: Matthew L. Pope, Quentin Pope, Will Pope, Hannah V. Pope, Alexa Faith Rash, and Haley Brooke Rash. She also leaves behind her sister, Hilda Houchins and husband Bill of Hiddenite; brother, Jack “Dale” Beaver and wife Shelby of Mt. Mourne; 2 cousins, reared as a brother and sister to her, Joe Beaver and wife Pat, and Linda Rogers; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 at Alexander Funeral Service from 5-8 P.M. Service will follow on Thursday, January 19th, at Stony Point Baptist Church at 4:00 P.M. where Rev. Phil Addison will officiate. Burial will follow in Stony Point Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
