As a proud veteran, Junie served his country in The United States Marines, a testament to his dedication and service. His military experience shaped much of his character, instilling in him values of honor, integrity, and perseverance.

Junie was not only a devoted husband to Judy C. Connolly, but he was also a loving father to his children: Janet Shaver (Wayne), James Connolly (Debra), and Chris Connolly (Vicki); stepdaughters, Vicky Canter (David) and Mechelle Greene (Scott). He displayed immense pride in his family and cherished the time spent with his seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through them. Junie is also survived by his sisters, Mary Sue Cook and Louise Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Watt Connolly and Daisey McLain Connolly, wife of 59 years, Nancy Little Connolly, son, Robert Keith Connolly, brother, Charlie Durant Connolly, and sister, Eula Mae Harris.

A member of Fairview Baptist Church, Junie found great joy and purpose in his faith and community involvement. His lively spirit was matched by his enthusiasm for outdoor activities. He enjoyed fishing, flounder gigging, and frogging—passions that brought him closer to nature and provided countless happy moments shared with family and friends. Junie was also an avid enthusiast of NASCAR, westerns, and playing cards, enjoying those moments spent with loved ones over shared interests and hearty laughter.
