Karen Elizabeth Williams Bumgarner

Karen Elizabeth Williams Bumgarner, age 53, of Alexander County, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at her home. Born on Sunday, September 27, 1970, in Burke County, she brought joy and love to those around her throughout her life.

Karen dedicated her professional career to working in accounts payable at Craftmaster, where she was known for her attention to detail and commitment. Beyond her career, Karen was a passionate supporter of her children's pursuits, proudly attending their band concerts and actively participating as a treasurer for the ACHS Band Boosters. Her dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, as she cherished the time spent with her loved ones.

In her leisure time, Karen found happiness in simple pleasures. She enjoyed going to the beach, where the waves provided a calming retreat. Her love for nurturing extended to her flower garden, where she cultivated beauty and tranquility. Karen also enjoyed word searches and crossword puzzles, often challenging herself while enjoying moments of quiet contemplation.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Ernie Bumgarner; her daughter Samantha Bumgarner; her son Chandler Bumgarner; her parents Donald and Hazel Williams; and her brothers Jeffrey Williams (Karen) and Kevin Williams (Deborah). She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family who will remember her warmth and kindness.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Cody Bullman will officiate. Joshua Williams, Justin Williams, Daniel Williams, Adam Williams, Stephen Taylor, and Allen Sigmon will serve as pallbearers.

Karen will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love for family and commitment to community will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
