Kathleen “Kitty” Goble Watts, age 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, October 28th, 2010 in Statesville Manor. She was born on May 15th, 1928 in Iredell County to parents Harley Roosevelt Goble & Bessie Broyhill Goble. She proudly served the FBI and was also an insurance agent for Benfield Insurance in Taylorsville for many years. She attended both First United Methodist & Stony Point Baptist Churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Watts; and her brother: Harley Goble Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kitten Goforth & husband Dale of Statesville; her sister, Nancy Clontz & husband Ronald of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Francis Goble of Maryland; grandson, Scotty Dixon & wife Amy of Mooresville; granddaughter, Tamra Upright & husband Ted of Stony Point; 3 great-grandsons: Garrett Upright of Stony Point, & Tyler & Joshua Dixon – both of Mooresville; and also her great-granddaughter, Katie Nelson –also of Mooresville. Kathleen also leaves behind 6 step-grand and great-grandchildren: Chris Goforth & wife Jennifer, Mason Goforth, Madi-Grace Goforth, & Karen, Nathan, and Brittany Earp. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 31st at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the Taylorsville City Cemetery where Kathleen will be laid to rest beside her husband Elbert. The Rev. Mark Robinette will officiate.
