Kathryn Mae Mull Friday, age 101, of Taylorsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Valley Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Glenn Grayson and Toy Magline Bumgarner Mull on Monday, May 4, 1914 in Gaston County. Kathryn was loved and looked up to by many for her strong relationship with the Lord and her giving spirit. She was a member of The Church Of God. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, needlework and crocheting when she could. She was always busy working on something, but never too busy for the people she loved . Kathryn loved nothing more than worshiping the Lord or spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents Kathryn was preceded in death by her loving husband and soul mate Edgar Ray Friday, two brothers Earl & Harold Mull, two sisters Helen Worley & Shirley Lowery and one son Bing Franklin Friday.
She leaves a lasting legacy to one brother Glenn Mull and wife Sibil, two sons Grayson and wife Margie, Wilson and wife Gayle, daughter in law Alma Friday, six grandchildren; Lloyd and wife Pam, Frankie and wife Maria, Bing Jr., Kimberly Shaw and husband Will, & Burke Friday and wife Heather, Valerie Younts and husband Ron, twelve great grandchildren Whitney, Matthew, Nichole, Hannah, Holland, Abigail, Canzada & Brianna Friday, Mahayla, & Patience Shaw, AbaGayle Younts, & Byron Wilson Younts, two step-grandchildren Lisa Baxter and husband Brent, & Teresa Bowman and husband Mark, three great great grandchildren, a special niece Lynnelene Shook, and special friends.
Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:00-4:00 pm. The funeral service will follow in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Gary W. Jennings and Rev. Johnny Shuler officiating. Burial will take place in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. The family requests that in addition to flowers that memorials be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 N Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607
