Keaton Stone McGlamery, age 19, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Iredell County. He was born at Davis Hospital in Iredell County on Saturday, August 14, 2005, to proud parents, Craig and Tammy McGlamery. Keaton grew up in Mooresville, NC and attended Woodland Heights Elementary, Brawley Middle School and Lake Norman High School. He also participated in the CATS (Career Academy and Technical School) program through the school system as he loved cars and autos.
In his early years, he loved what all kids loved - Ice Cream, bicycles, playing on trampolines, running around in the neighborhood with the other kids who lived there - all the normal kid fun. He always wanted to stay out until "Black Dark" which was about 15 minutes after "Blue Dark". He loved "Legos". Keaton never read the instructions and in fact, just dumped them out in a pile and built it - correctly I will add. He was tremendously skilled and talented working with his hands. As he got older, he loved baseball. He played every year at some level until he grew up. He loved shooting guns of many sorts (shooting skeets, targets or just at cardboard and cans) and archery.
Keat loved working on his cars and motorcycles. He learned so much in the past 4 years from his mentors but mostly self learning from the internet sources. Riding dirt bikes and street bikes was his fun and working on his old Z28 IROC was his passion. His life was cut short at the young age of 19 and in an instant, he was with his Lord and Savior.
Keaton is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Arlee and DC McGlamery, and maternal grandmother, Susie Hodge.
Those left to cherish the memories of Keaton include his parents, Craig and Tammy McGlamery of Statesville, NC; brothers, Payton McGlamery of Statesville, Chase McGlamery and wife Chelsea of Rootsville, Ohio; sister, Brittany Bowman and husband Kendrick of Wilkesboro, NC; maternal grandfather, Archie Hodge of Boomer, NC.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville, NC at 2:00 pm. A visitation will follow the service. Dr. Jeff Spry will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.
Keaton was the most kind and compassionate young man - always forgiving and not a vengeful part of Keaton existed. God made him wonderfully that way. He would give you the shirt off his back, tools, money, whatever he had that you needed. No exception. We will miss him beyond what words can say. We love you Keaton and cherish the day we get to see you again.
