Keith Kerley, age 73 of the Mt. Hebron Community, Taylorsville passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Romlius Don and Nancy Hubbard Kerley on Tuesday, April 7, 1942 in Alexander County. Keith was a very active member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He served as a deacon at the church for over forty years, sound technician, and cared for the building and grounds. Keith was very fun loving and was always ready to help others. He retired from Broyhill furniture after 45 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmas and Leo Kerley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years Helen Bentley Kerley, one son Kevin Kerley, and a daughter Kim Mitchell and husband Stacy, five grandchildren, Klint Kerley, Nichole Bentley, Allison Kerley, Anna Mitchell, Addie Mitchell, one great grandson, Carter Kerley, two sisters, Clara Russell, Betty Tedder and husband Buddy, mother in law Lottie Bentley and a host of nieces and nephews and, special friends Everette and Pat Wike.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services are Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Eddie Yount officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. A very special thanks to Janet Bentley with Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
