Larry Bentley Gilbert,

Larry Bentley Gilbert, age 69, of Taylorsville, passed away Thursday evening, Mar. 24, 2011 in Frye Regional Med. Ctr. Born in Wilkes Co. on Oct. 23, 1941,  to the late, Odie Turner and Nevada Williams Gilbert, he was of the Baptist Faith. Larry owned and operated Triple G Construction with his sons, and enjoyed the out of doors, hunting and fishing as much as possible with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Odie Gilbert Jr. as well as three sisters, Clarabelle Hamby, Marybelle Hincher, and Mozelle Parsons.  He  is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Mary Faw Gilbert of the home. One daughter, Anna Marie Gilbert, of the home. Two sons, Larry Gilbert Jr and wife Tammy, and Joey Gilbert and wife Dana, all of Taylorsville. Larry has eight grandchildren who will cherish his memory, Joey Jr., Taylor, Kasey, Bentley, Brittany, & Tabitha Gilbert and Journey Sharpe and Jonni Moore. He also has several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service with graveside services at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Foster officiating.  Warren Vogel, & Larry, Joey, Joey Lee Jr., & Odie Gilbert will serve as pallbearers.   Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Gilbert family.
