Lawrence Steve Kelsoe

December 31, 1957 — July 3, 2019

Lawrence Stephen “Steve” Kelsoe, age 62 of Taylorsville passed away at his residence on July 3rd, 2019. Born to the late Kermit Kelsoe and Joyce Barnes Hodge. Steve served in the US. Army from 1977 until 1980 and was last stationed at Fort Richard, Alaska. He worked in the shipping department in the furniture industry and enjoyed spending his leisure time fishing.
In addition to his father Steve was preceded in death by his fiancé’ Raylene Tapley and nephew Sam Kelsoe.
Those left to cherish the memories of Stephen include three sons Brandon Kelsoe of Washington state Cody Kelsoe of Alaska and, Wesley McVey of Tennessee, one daughter Shontele Daugherty of Texas, stepfather Millard McCoy and mother Joyce Hodge, eight siblings, Martha Rogers of Taylorsville, Mary Coleman of Mt.Ulla, Karen Price of Hickory, Sandy Fox of Granite Falls, Charles, Bertis and George Kelsoe all of Taylorsville, Michael Hodge of Hickory along with a number on nieces and nephews.
A service honoring Stephen will be held on Saturday, July 13 at Alexander Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. National Guard will provide honors.
Inurnment will be with the family at a later date.
The family is not accepting flowers, but memorials may be sent to the Lawrence Stephen Kelsoe Memorial Fund, PO Box 40, Taylorsville, NC. 28681
