Leah Faye Mathis

March 8, 1963 — August 16, 2020

Leah Faye Mathis, age 57 of Hiddenite passed away on August 16, 2020 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service for Leah will be conducted by the family, on Wednesday August 19, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm for family members and friends at the home of her sister Kathy Bragg Gryder located at 173 Old Lackey Farm Road Stony Point, N.C. 28678.
Leah was the daughter of the late Dana Ray and Barbara Ellen Gearhart Bragg in Logan County, West Virginia. Leah was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church, loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she was an active member of the Alexander County Republican Party.
In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by a nephew, Dustin James Sweet and a niece, Tosha LaShae Sweet.
Those left to celebrate the life of Leah include her two daughters, Ashlee Mathis Hughes (Ned) of Burnsville, Danielle Mathis (Robert Speaks) of Taylorsville, one brother, Daria Ray Bragg, Jr. (Christy) of Vale, two sisters, Kathy Bragg Gryder (Phil StClair) of Stony Point, Betty Bragg McConnell (Eddie) of Mooravian Falls, two grandchildren, James “Jay” Timothy Hughes, and Story Idell Speaks.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
