Lena Belle Moretz, age 83, of Taylorsville, passed away on July 5, 2016, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Lena was born to the late James Cicero and Zula Mae McKinney Bolick on June 5, 1933 in Alexander County. She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Conrad Moretz, sister Edith Isenhour, and sister in-law Ruth Bolick.

Lena leaves to cherish her memory sons: Ashley Moretz & fiancé Theresa McDaniel, Latt Moretz & wife Wendy all of Taylorsville, Marty Moretz & fiancé Lisa Cornett, David Moretz & wife Deanna of  Chesapeake, Virginia; daughters: Yvonne Khatod & husband K. David, Joye Bumgarner & special friend Roger Wilson both of Taylorsville; brothers: Howard "Shorty" Bolick and Floyd Bolick & wife Carolyn of Hickory; fourteen grandchildren: Brandy & Roslyn Henderson, Angel, Cote, Dillon, Brandon, Brittany, & Savannah Moretz, James & Angela Greene, Casey, Caroline, Connor, and Coulter Moretz; nine great grandchildren: Hunter Henderson, Harley & Harris Arnot, Brooklyn Moretz, Neveah Summerlin, Nathaniel Hart, Bella Moretz, Alexis Neill, and Kayleigh Greene, and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family wishes to give a special thanks to caregivers: Sandy Armstrong, Gloria Whitener, Summer Whitener, Selina Setzer, Kellie Slape, Catherine Icard, Ginger Fox, and Connie Lambert.

Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Bethlehem from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Bost, Rev. Steve Johnson, and Rev. Neil Bowman will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Pisgah Cemetery in Bethlehem. Pallbearers will include: Brandon Moretz, Cote Moretz, Dillon Moretz, Connor Moretz, Coulter Moretz, and James Greene. The family requests that in addition to flowers that memorials be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658 or to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 9042 NC Hwy 127, Hickory, NC 28601.
