Lena Cauthen Fox

Lena Cauthen Fox, age 84, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Iredell County. Born on Monday, January 13, 1941, in Panola County, Mississippi, Lena lived a life characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep commitment to helping others.

Lena was known for her warm spirit and her love for those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, creating treasured memories that will be cherished forever. A member of Oxford Baptist Church, Lena found joy in engaging with her community and was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her caring nature and sociable personality made her a favorite among friends and family alike.

Throughout her life, Lena embraced a variety of interests that brought her happiness. She took great pride in maintaining a clean home, filled with the warmth of family gatherings. An avid cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones, demonstrating her love through the art of cooking. In addition to her nurturing side, Lena also found enjoyment in visiting the casino, reveling in the excitement it brought her.

Lena leaves behind her cherished family members, including her children, George Fox, Brenda Fox, Robert Fox (Jennifer), and Heidi Fox; her grandchildren, Anthony Deal (Wendy), Larkin and Andy Fox. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Lucas Deal, along with a number of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Quintell and Minnie Clark Cauthen; her late husband, Otis J. Fox; her son, Jimmie Fox; her daughter, Rebecca Fox; her sister, JoAnn Cauthen Hoskins; and her brother, Willie James Cauthen.

Lena will lie in state Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Alexander Funeral Service from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery in Conover, NC, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm. Rev. Joel Frye and Rev. Byron Repass will officiate.

In this time of grief, Lena's family reflects on the joy she brought into their lives and the love she unconditionally shared with those she held dear. Her legacy of love and warmth will continue to shine in their hearts.
