Leo James Reese, 87 of Taylorsville passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born to the late Partee Gaither and Fannie Novella Hall Reese on Wednesday, May 18, 1927. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a military policeman in World War 2, a lifelong farmer raising beef cattle, and loved his bible.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, May Reese Deal, and Man's best friend Sam.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years Sadie Jones Reese of the home, one daughter Annette Williams and husband David of Bethlehem, and two grandchildren, Cristal McKinney and husband Buddy of Ellendale, Tamara "Little Bit" Bryant and husband Steven also of Bethlehem, and Johnson Richey a best friend like a brother.
Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2015 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the funeral immediately following. Rev. Kenneth Lambert and Rev. Gary Jennings will officiate. Mr. Reese will have full military rights given to him by the D.A.V. chapter 84 and 6. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Humane Society PO Box 306 N Wilkesboro, NC 28659
