Letha Surratt Phillips,

Letha Surratt Phillips, age 79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 in her home.  She was born in Davidson County, North Carolina to parents Beverly and Clara Shirley Surratt.  Letha was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was also a proud member of the Gideon’s.  In addition to her parents, Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean Phillips; her brother, Ralph Surratt, and her 2 sisters: Alene Surratt and Zona Floyd.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Gaye Aponte & husband Rob of Taylorsville; her son, Bobby Phillips Jr., also of Taylorsville; 2 grandchildren: Maria Aponte of Asheville and Vincent Aponte of Taylorsville; 2 sisters: Lucille Wilson of Clemmons, and Geraldine Macdow of Franklin, New Hampshire; and her brother: Jim Surratt of Salisbury.   Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at Three Forks Baptist Church from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service will follow at 3 at the church where Dr. Carson Moseley will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Three Forks Baptist Church Russian Mission Fund at 4685 Three Forks Church Rd.  Taylorsville, 28681.  Arrangements have been entrusted with Alexander Funeral Service.
